Haleon: Delivering a Future-Ready Hybrid MSP & Services Procurement Model at Global Scale

In March 2026, Guidant Global won the Supplier Excellence Award at Haleon’s global Breakthrough Partner Awards, recognised for our ability to move quickly, collaborate closely, and deliver meaningful results.

Presented at the UK-hosted summit and accepted by Impellam UK CEO Simon Blockley, the award recognised what Guidant delivered in the first year of a complex, high-stakes global MSP and Services Procurement partnership with Haleon: pace, collaboration, and results that matter.

Three outcomes define why Guidant Global won this award

Commercial Impact at Scale

Up to £8m in estimated cost savings, a 180% increase in direct-hire contingent placements, and a 40% reduction in SoW change requests, all delivered for Haleon in Year 1.

Governance and Risk Transformation

Approximately 70 suppliers consolidated into a single managed supply chain, 150+ workers reclassified into compliant engagement types, and over 100 global audit items supported or remediated.

Operational Excellence from Day One

14,250+ service actions fulfilled, 4,000+ ServiceNow tickets resolved during hyper-care, and a rationalised notification framework that transformed the hiring manager experience globally.

The Situation

Haleon set out to transform how it engaged, governed and optimised its external workforce following a significant organisational realignment.

Haleon, a global consumer health leader, set out to transform how it engaged, governed, and optimised its external workforce following a significant organisational realignment.

In late 2024, Haleon partnered with Guidant Global, selecting a hybrid delivery model combining talent access, supply-chain ownership, services procurement, and fully integrated workforce governance.

As the partnership took shape, the need shifted from transactional MSP delivery towards true strategic counsel, and the design of an agile, future-ready workforce model enabling flexible access to scarce talent and project-based outcomes across the extended workforce.

The partnership launched at pace, going live for Haleon globally on 1 January 2025. The remit spanned major geographies and encompassed agency workers, services procurement, and statement-of-work engagements.

Managed spend
£115m+
The programme would oversee more than £115m in Haleon’s contingent and services procurement spend in 2025.
Programme scope
Global
A globally coordinated, UK-led model designed to handle high operational demand from day one.

The goal: a unified, modern workforce programme aligned to transparency, cost leadership, risk mitigation, and operational excellence.

The Challenge

Haleon needed global visibility, consistent control and a scalable, compliant operating model across multiple countries.

Haleon needed to address a set of deeply embedded structural challenges. A major focus was establishing global visibility under one global team, with consistent control across its externally sourced workforce. Haleon also needed a scalable, compliant operating model across multiple countries with divergent regulatory environments.

Beyond operational continuity, Haleon increasingly sought flexible ways to access scarce talent and deliver project-based outcomes across its extended workforce spanning contingent labour and Services Procurement / SoW. This required an operating model that could advise, design, and steer the right route-to-talent, not simply process transactions.

The transition from the incumbent MSP added further complexity. The previous operating model relied on more than 150 auto-notification categories, inconsistent change-request pathways, and a fractured user experience across the 14,000+ annual service actions Haleon was absorbing each year. Haleon also faced significant risks from misclassified worker engagements, an over-fragmented supplier base, and a lack of strategic governance.

From day one

The upgrade needed to be delivered at speed, across countries, without compromising compliance or business continuity. These were the conditions under which Guidant Global was asked to operate from day one.

The Solution

Guidant delivered a rapid, multi-country transition supported by strengthened governance, supply-chain optimisation and strategic workforce counsel.

01 A Fast-Tracked, Multi-Country Implementation +

Guidant delivered a rapid transition across the UK, US, Canada, Puerto Rico, and Italy, completing programme discovery and cutover within six weeks. The implementation encompassed approximately 12,000 worker transitions and a fully redesigned Fieldglass configuration to simplify routing and integrate SoW management.

Following go-live, an extended hyper-care period ran across Q1 to resolve technology integration challenges and safeguard a smooth global launch. During this period, the team resolved more than 4,000 ServiceNow tickets, stabilising workflows and removing friction for hiring managers across all regions, while simultaneously driving continuous improvement work throughout the programme.

02 Strengthened Governance and Supply-Chain Optimisation +

To increase control, reduce risk, and improve quality of outcomes, Guidant rebuilt the governance and supply-chain structure from the ground up:

  • Supplier rationalisation: Approximately 70 suppliers consolidated into a unified managed supply-chain model
  • Clear engagement routes: Spanning contingent, SoW, and services procurement
  • Worker reclassification: 150+ workers moved into compliant engagement types, one of the most significant risk-mitigation efforts of the year
  • Audit remediation: More than 100 items supported or remediated across 12+ global audits
  • Supplier governance: Annual regional review of service worker suppliers established, driving correct classification, enhanced visibility, cost reduction, and risk mitigation
  • Screening redesign: UK agency worker pre-employment screening relaunched, strengthening control while keeping checks proportionate and business-enabling
  • SoW change framework: Supplier-driven drafting replaced with a collaborative, technology-enabled process aligned to best practice

Together, these changes created a stronger, more strategic supplier ecosystem fully aligned with Haleon’s governance standards and long-term risk appetite.

03 Operational Optimisation and Efficiency Gains +

The programme delivered major efficiency improvements across every part of the operating model:

  • 14,250+ service actions fulfilled in 2025 by a small specialist team, significantly reducing burden on local hiring teams and improving cycle times
  • 150+ auto-notification categories rationalised, reducing noise and improving manager action rates
  • 40% reduction in SoW change requests through end-to-end process redesign
  • 60% reduction in SoW supplier invoice submission time
  • VMS approval workflows reviewed and optimised across the business, delivering transparent, role-appropriate visibility

These changes created a cleaner, more predictable operating rhythm across all programme areas and materially improved the day-to-day experience for hiring managers globally.

04 Trusted Advisor to Hiring Managers +

Guidant operates as a trusted advisor to hiring managers and stakeholders across the business, providing upfront triage and strategic workforce counsel to shape demand and select the right route-to-talent. This includes guiding decisions across contingent labour and Services Procurement / SoW, helping teams access scarce capability and deliver project-based outcomes, while preventing misclassification and improving transparency and workflow design to deliver better outcomes faster.

This model enables confident decisions, accelerates delivery through the right pathways, and strengthens a compliant, future-ready flexible workforce capability across Haleon.

05 A Partnership Built for Continuous Improvement +

A shared commitment to continuous improvement has enabled ongoing investment in the programme beyond the core operating model, including targeted hiring manager engagement campaigns, the development of a refreshed programme identity to drive further alignment, and roadshows designed to increase awareness and early engagement across the business.

This reinforces a shared-investment ethos and deepens alignment to Haleon’s long-term transformation roadmap. It is a model designed not just to run, but to evolve.

Results

The partnership has delivered Haleon a fully modernised, high-governance workforce programme that is faster, more transparent, and more commercially effective.
